About Tipperoo

What Tipperoo is — and what it stands for.

Tipperoo is a prediction game for friend groups, families and offices: start a group, invite your people, tip every matchday — and the table shows, in the end, who really saw it coming. The rest of this page is the fine print, just set large: what we stand for, how Tipperoo sustains itself, and who's behind it.

What we stand for

Tipperoo is ad-free, and that's not a phase: there will never be a banner between you and your table. How a prediction game gets by without ads is something we walk through on the blog.

What Tipperoo lives on instead: it's free, and everything that makes a round a round stays free — creating, inviting, tipping along, the table, the race chart. Later comes an optional season pass for people who want more, plus an offer for company rounds. The model has stood since day one; ads were never part of it.

A second line is harder still: no money in play. No betting odds next to the matches, no stakes, nothing that passes through our hands. A prediction game should be safe to pin to the office noticeboard without anyone raising an eyebrow.

And your data is yours: we don't sell it, and you can delete your account and data completely, any time.

Nobody tells us what to build

Tipperoo has taken no investor money and has no advertisers to keep happy. It is funded from a steady income, and the running costs are deliberately kept small.

That's why you can take the red lines literally: there is nobody Tipperoo has promised anything to except you and your round. What gets built is decided by what's good for the game.

Who's behind it

Behind Tipperoo is Torben Labs from Hamburg. Name and address are in the Impressum — right where they belong.

A mistake we caught before it counted

You can't see from the outside whether a prediction game scores carefully. So we'd rather tell you where we got it wrong.

For our “Just like Kicktipp” points preset we read the published rules, level by level. On penalty shootouts we had assumed the winner gets credited one goal: a 2:2 after extra time would have come out as 3:2 on Tipperoo. The worked example in the official help says otherwise:

Portugal–England, Euro 2004 — 2:2 after extra time, 6:5 on penalties, recorded as 8:7. Every goal counts, including the ones from the shootout.

We were wrong — and we changed the engine before a single match had been scored. You can check the example at the source.

The honest frame around it: we check our scoring against published rules, not against anyone's servers — and every round sets its own point values. What that means for an actual move is spelled out, unvarnished, on the Kicktipp alternative page.

Where Tipperoo stands today

Unvarnished, so nobody expects anything else:

  • There is no signup yet. You cannot create a round here. Not yet.

  • The plan: launch for the 2026/27 season, with Bundesliga and Premier League. Waitlist folks get in first.

  • What you can do today: seal your season oracle — your predictions for the season, locked in before anyone knows anything. Half a minute, no account.

  • What's already readable: the roadmap (including what's missing) and the blog.
